For many guys, getting to 15% body fat is a goal of theirs.
I have for a good part of my life, and especially the last few years lived consistently at around 15% body fat while regularly while eating my favorites like pizza, ice cream cake and French fries.
So how is that you ask?
It’s because I do some things consistently.
Here are the 3 things I do consistently to live at 15% body fat:
- Drink enough water – water is a contributing factor to so many functions that occur in our body, and ones body fat percentage is largely dependent on our hydration level. So if your consistently dehydrated, it will effect your body fat percentage.
- Follow 80/20 – We have all at one point or another heard of the 80/20 rule. (Pareto principle) So I prioritize eating wholesome, nutrition minimally processed food 80% of the time, so I can enjoy snacks and things like pizza once a week or so.
- Prioritize Strength Training – This is probably the most important one. I don’t focus on cardio, not that I don’t do cardio because I do, but I make strength training a main priority. Lean muscle is the fountain of youth. It is also responsible for an effective metabolism. The more lean muscle you have, the more fat your body can burn.
Those are things that are staples in my life. They happen daily. I do other things as well and living a healthy life is a priority to me, especially since its how I make my living, but I don’t spend hours a day in the gym everyday or eat “clean” 100% of the time.
